Check these terms first

Be sure to review wage and overtime rates, working hours, accommodation and food, transportation, insurance, leave entitlements, contract duration, and the grounds for early termination.

The contract you sign should match the job order registered with the authorities. A mismatch is a red flag.

Do not sign what you do not understand

Ask your consultant to explain every clause, and keep a signed copy for yourself. If a clause is missing or unclear, it must be resolved before you travel.

Never accept a verbal promise that is not written in the contract — verbal assurances are not enforceable.

Fair-trade recruitment principles

Legitimate recruitment is transparent about fees and costs. If you are asked to pay unofficial amounts, or the process is being rushed, stop and report it to the authorities.

Common Questions

Changes to core terms generally require your agreement. Report any unauthorized change to the labour authorities of the destination country.
